Stop Committing These Nutrition Mistakes Now
Have you ever wondered why, no matter how much you seem to eat “healthy” and exercise, your body just wouldn’t budge? No matter how many diet regimens you try just to lose weight and live healthily, you still end up getting sick every now and then? The culprit behind your unhealthy body lies within your nutrition. Start correcting your habits right now and stop committing these nutrition mistakes!
Stop Counting Your Calories
Throughout our life, we’ve been taught that in order to lose more weight, we need to burn more calories than we consume. That’s why most of the diet meals we have are low in calories. Carbohydrates and fats are stripped out. While we acquired the desired result of initially losing weight, it cannot sustain our body for a long period of time. We find ourselves getting hungrier as the days pass by. Aside from that, we’ve been depriving our body of its nutrition that causes us to become jittery and irritable. When we finally give in to temptation, we tend to overeat our favorite (and some unhealthy) foods because we’ve been deprived for so long. Just by committing this nutrition mistake we can already see how unhealthy this habit is. Our body is more complex than simply follow the formula of energy in – energy out. Instead of counting your calories, we encourage you to focus on eating healthy foods.
This advice may seem trivial, but you’ll realize that it’s the best thing you can do. Let’s take, for example, you’re required to only have 500 calories for you snack. This gives us the perception that we can eat anything as long as it’s within the 500 calories bracket. This means that you may opt to eat French fries or burger (with an estimated 300 calories) and a soft drink with 200 calories. You should be fine, right? That’s where you’re wrong. It’s because even if you’ve met your calorie intake, the foods you’re eating are full of fats and sugar which makes you unhealthy. If you focus on eating healthy foods, like fruits for your fiber, a healthy sandwich as your snack, then it won’t matter if you eat less than 500 calories, because your body is loaded up with nutrients and healthy food.
You Avoid Eating Fat, But You’re Consuming “Low Fat or Non-Fat” Products
Be very careful with dietary products, because, contrary to popular belief, these are the number 1 culprit of your unhealthy body. We’ve been told the lies that in order to lose weight, you need to avoid eating or consuming fats. The truth is, there are two types of fats you can consume, the saturated fats and unsaturated fats. The first one is what makes you gain more weight. Eating oily foods, processed foods, among other unhealthy foods may trigger terminal and chronic disease in your body. That’s the type of fat that you should avoid or minimize.
However, the second one is what we call healthy fats. These are the types of fats that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids that are good for your heart and brain. If you consume these healthy fats, it can help lower your cholesterol levels and decrease your risks of acquiring cardiovascular diseases like a heart attack or stroke. We recommend that you eat foods that are rich in healthy fats like nuts, sardines, tuna, avocado because it helps you achieve a healthy body and it can help boost your mental health too. Now you might be tempted to consume those “low fat” or “nonfat” products because it limits your fat intake, right? Well, not necessarily.
It’s because these so-called low-fat products are actually loaded with sugar! Since these products were stripped off their original fat content. The food manufacturers need to replace its content and they usually add copious amount of sugar to compensate for it. The excess sugar disrupts your blood sugar levels and may trigger your chronic Diabetes disease.
Consuming Unhealthy Sugars
Even if consuming excess sugar is bad for our health, we can’t deny the fact that our body needs sugar in order to keep functioning. You might be wondering how you can consume sugar without upsetting your blood sugar levels. Well, we’ve got news for you! There are numerous ways of consuming sugar the healthy way. For one, eating fruits will give you the natural sugars your body needs without spiking up your blood sugar. It’s because fruits are rich in fibers that help regulate your blood sugar. If not, you can choose healthy sugar alternatives like stevia and xylitol.
