Experts Call These Celebrity Diets Extremely Dangerous for the Public

As we move closer to holiday season, it’s almost time to embrace the weight gain that comes with devouring sugary Christmas treats and downing one too many glasses of champagne in the festive holiday spirit – but once December is over, the reality of not fitting into any of the old clothes begins to hit and the temptation to try a quick fix for weight loss kicks in.

Everyone seems to love the idea of dropping a dress size in a couple of weeks – and they’re willing to try any diet fad out there to make it happen. But you may want to think twice before trying some of the most popular celebrity diets out there to lose weight after the holiday season is over.

Ketogenic

Kim Kardashian is supposedly a big fan of the Keto diet

Kim Kardashian’s biggest admirers will go to any lengths to get the reality television star’s voluptuous curves and a flat belly and according to a recent news report, she, along with other noteworthy Hollywood star like Kobe Bryant and Alec Baldwin, are huge fans of the Ketogenic diet.

Ever since the secret behind Kim Kardashian’s killer body was revealed, the popularity of the diet has increased immensely, but dietitians have now revealed that it may not be entirely safe for everyone to try. The ketogenic diet follows a very low-carb and high-fat eating approach which puts you body into a ketosis state and forces it to burn stored fat instead of glucose for energy.

But once you cut out all carb sources from your diet, you’re likely to risk your gut health due to the lack of fiber. The diet is almost impossible to maintain and has been proven to do more harm than good.

Raw Veganism

Gwyneth Paltrow recently released her new ‘clean eating’ book which promotes raw veganism

Veganism is definitely one of the trendiest diets of 2017 that has the backing of ethically conscious millennials hoping to make a difference in how animals are treated in the meat and dairy industry. In the past four years, veganism has gone up by 400% and the ‘clean eating’ advocates are encouraging people to jump onto the raw vegan bandwagon for various health benefits.

Unfortunately, raw veganism can have a more negative than positive impact on health, but that hasn’t stopped celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow and Megan Fox from praising this lifestyle. Apart from eliminating all animal products, followers of raw veganism must also avoid any foods that have been cooked. Supporters of this lifestyle believe consuming food in its natural uncooked form preserves the essential nutrients and makes digestion easier, but according to some experts, cooking food is essential to break down certain enzymes in the food which may not digest otherwise.

Diet Pills

Wouldn’t it be great if there was miracle pill that could solve all of your weight problems? According to some popular celebrities like Kim Kardashian, the magic diet pill can actually make you look like them – or at least that’s what they want you to believe.

In reality, nutritionists have classified these drugs as highly dangerous and having nasty side effects. Even though there are several regulated brands that sell weight loss pills to suppress hunger or melt fat, many pills on the market have not been licensed and contain ingredients that make them unfit for consumption.

Teatox

Who doesn’t love tea? But like with everything else, too much of it can be a bad thing. For some celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Nicki Minaj, the best method of losing weight is a tea detox – also known as teatox. These stars have been seen promoting various teatox products on their social media accounts, leading people to believe that it’s the new miracle potion for quick and easy weight-loss. However, the experts disagree.

These detox teas often contain ingredients such as laxative and dandelion which may give an initial impression of fat-loss when it’s actually the water weight. Teatoxes contains high amounts of caffeine and can lead to side effects like dehydration and diarrhea.
