Transform Yourself into a Modern-day Duchess with Help from Meghan’s Makeup Artist

Women have always been in awe of the beauty of famous celebrities, but especially today when there is an easy access of what they use to achieve their looks through social media. But Meghan Markle is not just your ordinary celebrity, she’s also a royal who could possibly soon be the most photographed person on the planet, breaking the record of the late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.  It helps that when the famous duchess goes out in public, she’s always picture perfect with her simple but elegant makeup, chic dresses, and gorgeous hair.  So how does she do it? Her makeup artist has some tips to share if you want to always look photo-ready like Meghan.

Daniel Martin is not just the duchess’ makeup artist, he has also been her longtime friend.  His first tip to achieve a glowing face with makeup on is to exfoliate.  Before putting on makeup, Martin suggests using an exfoliant first, which is very important to help even out the skin texture and tone.  His recommendations are two products, Dior Capture Youth New Skin Effect Enzyme Solution for people who have sensitive skin, and Ren Clean Skincare Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic for those who have oily and combination skin.

Prepping up the skin for makeup does not end there.  Martin’s next step is the application of toning water, followed by a product containing the very popular ingredient hyaluronic acid, which traps moisture and helps plump the skin. The product he suggests is Grown Alchemist Instant Smoothing Serum.  The finishing touch is enhancing radiance with Tatcha’s The Dewy Skin Cream.

Then comes the makeup application, and the makeup artist’s suggestion is to use long-wear foundation if you don’t want to do any touchup throughout the day.  He also recommends using a buffing brush to apply the foundation so looks more natural. Some of the other makeup tips that Martin shared is to put blush before foundation, and he also uses paintbrushes instead of makeup brushes, especially for putting eyeliner on, because they are more precise.
